I am from Electrical background. I was asked couple of questions on Alternators.
1. What are the functions of an Alternator?
2. How power is generated and distributed? Had to give a brief explanation.
3. Why we do not use DC motor as driver for the Alternator in power plants?

I was also asked a couple of questions on C and Data Structures.
1. Why is a few high level languages are based on C?
2. What do I kno about Garbage Collection.

Well answered them. The gentleman who was taking my technical didnt ask me about my project or my training.

The person who was taking our technical also took our HR. Actually it was a combined one. I was asked about my strengths and weaknesses. How I can change my weakness into my strengths. I was asked about my quizzing, debating and music and other co-curricular activities I had.

My suggestions for readers and juniors would be:
1.Practise aptitude and verbal and understand what you are doing.
2. During tests DO NOT cheat or CONSULT. They just cancel your papers and you wont even know.
3. During interview remain calm and be straight forward and truthful.
The person who is taking your interview can easily make out whether you are lying or not.
4. Finally if you dont know the answer to a question then say it instead of giving a false answer.

Total of about 250+ sat for the written tests. 198 cleared the written part and Cognizant recruited 109. My name was announced 2nd. So didnt have a long and anxious wait.
