It was a simple 1 hour test which comprised of general aptitude and technical both in one paper. The time limit was 1 hour.
* Technical side: The technical paper consisted of questions from CA, OS, DBMS, ICA, C++ and DSA. To convey in
short the technical paper covered all the core subjects of CSE and those subjects of ECE which are being taught to CSE !!
The questions were quite simple and basic. Only elementary knowledge is needed to solve the paper. No question required
deep knowledge of the subject. The questions asked in C++ and DS were not of the standard of that of companies like MS
and Google. The questions were on the very basic knowledge and a little application. Like they mixed a sort with a search
and then asked for the time complexity. That required the knowledge of that particular sort and search. For CSE chaps
specially, just read your subjects and Marris Mano for Electronics and i think u get get through! *General Aptitude The
general aptitude paper was quite easy and questions were from all the parts of general aptitude.

1. About yourself. 2. Why CISCO? I answered it as : the profile matches with my profile a lot. u are offering r&d job and i
don't want to go for testing. 3. What do u basically think of testing? (this was asked by the testing guy!! ) 4. Where do u
see urself in the future. 5. When did u did coding for ur happiness last time? 6. How fare is to take a guy from Btech for
R&D job when we have options of taking Ph.D guys from abroad univ. 7. write a class for node of a tree. 8. Write a code
for tree traversal. (any!! :)) 9. If asked how will u test ur code? 10. what is paging? 11. What are the advantages of paging?
12. Disadvantages of paging? 13. Need of paging? 14. The type of scheduling used in windows? 15. --same-- in linux. 16.
given a machine(linux), with the help of coding how can u configure the scheduling which is being used in the machine.
17. When did u used multiple inheritence last time? 18. tell me one puzzle that u ve solved in the previous days. 19. a
puzzle: there is a 7hr clock and a 4hr clock (sand clock which was being used in the previous days) ..how can u measure 13
hrs using them./ i gave 2 solutions to the puzzle.. that was a simple one though 20. Ask any question if u ve any..

it 4. family background... 5. did u applied for yahoo and microsoft? i said yes and i couldn't get through!! 6. why? i said
:may be because of lack of prep. 7. there r some oppportunities which u get once in a lifetime..if u fail to avail them bcoz
of lack of prep then what'll be ur next step? 8. if u don't get a job from ur campus.. what'll be ur next step? 9. U finished ur
schooling in 04 but joined this clg in 05... what was the reason? 10. did u get through iit? i said: yes, but i wasn't getting
cse over there...n i m a die hard cse guy. 11. any regrets for joining nit warangal instead of iit. 12. what was the happiest
moment of ur life. 13. what is jawahar navodaya vidyalaya (dats where my father works into). 14. have u given gre? 15.
what du think abt going for gre,ms and then joining the r&d centre. 16. don't u think that ur pointer is a bit low 17. any
questions??

Just be good at basics of all the subject ... they don't expect u to be a master of any subject... be honest at the interview...
say no to gre and mba plans in the interview... be perfect at justifying ur resume... leave a good impression at the first sight
itself n hope for the best... because it all depends upon luck...its just ur day when u get placed... though preparation counts
but luck plays a big role in getting u a job.. Best of Luck...

I did quite well in the written part. In my interview...when i said i don;t like testing...the testing guy just closed his laptop
and his next question was: what d u think of testing...however i managed...i said i like puzzles a lot and i don't like
mugging up things...he gave me a puzzle and i gave 2 sols to it. i said i am good at coding... he asked me 2 simple codes
and i got through. he asked me what is paging... i answered a bit. For all the questions numbered 11-16 above.. my answer
was i don't know!! but my answer got justified juss bcoz i said i m not good at mugging up things and i solved the puzzles
and coding which i said i am good at!! in PI, when asked about Jawahar navodaya vidyalaya, i gave him the details of
jnv...the plan..the history...the expense of 1 school and the amount which it costs to the annual budget of india... i showed a
never say die attitude in PI...when asked to aska question i asked: where do u rate cisco keeping in mind a $ 9b of fixed
asset cost in a span of about 25 years? he himself was amazed by the number at first...coz he didn't knew dat figure!! and
of course a big NOOOOOOOO to gre did it all for me!
