the following technical questions were asked by the panel: 1) What happens when a valve of a pipeline is opened or closed
suddenly? 2) What is the work of a mechanical engineer in a pipeline? 3) If something happens somewhere in a pipelines,
how does an engineer sitting at some other place come to know about it? 4) What is pigging in pipelines? 5) They asked
me about my training, what I have done, what I learned 6) What is cavitaion? 7) what is entropy? 8) What is differential
and how does it helps in turning of a vehicle? 9) What is the mechanism in rickshaw when it takes a turn? 10) Which one is
better...frront or real wheel drive? 11) How does a kid riding a toy cycle takes a turn?

the follwing questions were asked: 1) tell us about yourself? 2) If you are asked to choose a particular place of posting or a
department, which one will you prefer?

If you are applying for IOCL, better be prepared with the following subjects: 1) Thermodynamics 2) Fluid mechanics 3)
Fluid machines 4) Heat transfer Other than this, any question can be asked. If you have done any project or training, better
to tell them in the start of the interview. In my case at the start of my interview, I told I have done training on pipelines, so
all the questions that followed were related to my training only. First 5 minutes are most important.

The IOCL interview was technical only. The questions were asked in a rapid fire type without giving much time for
settling done. Overall it was nice experience.It was my first interview and am happy I cleared in my first attempt.
