Aptitude Test : 20 Minutes
Quantitative : 20 Minutes
Technical : 60 Minutes
Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
the questions were given covering the whole curriculum of our Electrical Engineering from basics of electrical engineering to microprocessors, insulators, electromagnetics, power systems, power system protection and so on....
The paper was a bit hard but since it was relative it went on....
The interview was divided into 3 parts 20 minutes technical, 10 minutes for the projects I have done, 10 minutes practical applications of what all I learnt, and another 10 minutes was HR.
There was a three member panel where one was from electrical and he has got some 10 questions prepared to interview each.
They asked me about regenerative braking, dynamic braking, transformer protection, IGBT's, MOSFET's, though not deep into power electronics and some parts of power systems.
The HR round started off by asking me about the project I have done in Germany, the discussion went on and I was asked about my experiences there and so on..... then they started asking about the practical applications like traction, braking and gave me some situations like what will you do if a transformer has blown, what will you do when a relay operates and the CB is opened.....
there was no GD but there was an online psychometric test for one hour. This test you can do it sitting in your room. This has questions to test your personality. It was a bit boring since I had to answer 160 questions of similar type.
