IT WOULD BE GOOD OF YOU IF YOU PRACTICE SOME QUESTIONS BEFOREHAND BECAUSE EVEN THERE WERE ONLY 30 QUESTIONS IN 45 MINUTES WE HAD A LACK OF TIME BECAUSE THE QUESTIONS WERE TOUGH. SOLVING PRACTICE PAPERS SAME AS CAT MIGHT BE OF HELP.
MOREOVER TRY TO DO QUESTIONS OF EACH TYPE AND SECTION AS THERE MAY B E SECTIONAL CUT-OFF.MORE THAN YOUR SPEED THE QUESTIONS TEST YOUR SKILL AND EXPERTISE.

IT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE AND EVERY ONE (EXCEPT FOR A FEW) SPOKE WELL. TRY TO BE THE SECOND OR THE THIRD TO START THE DISCUSSION AS IT IS SAFE OR IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT ABOUT THE TOPIC GIVE IT A START. EVEN THROUGH THE GD SHOW SOME LEADERSHIP SKILLS BY ALLOWING THE STUDENTS WHO COULD NTO GET A CHANCE TO SPEAK AND DON'T BE AGRESSIVE OR POINT FINGERS.

Technical Interview

IT WAS A LONG INTERVIEW WHICH LASTED FOR 45 MINUTES. THEY ASKED QUESTIONS WHICH WERE BASIC BUT LATER ON WENT DEEPER INTO THE SUBJECT. SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WERE
1. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STRESS AND PRESSURE.
2. DRAW AND EXPLAIN IRON-CARBIDE DIAGRAM.
3. EXPLAIN THE METALLURICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VARIOUS TYPES OF STEEL.
4.WHICH IS A COSTLIER CAR , A DIESEL CAR OR A PETROL CAR AND WHY.
5. THE EFFICIENCIES OF VARIOUS THERMODYNAMIC CYCLES IN VARIOUS CONSITIONS.( FOR RXAM. OTTO CYCLE VS DIESEL CYCLE WHEN MAX C.R. IS THE CRITERION OR WHEN MAX. ENGIEN PRESSURE IS CRITERION)
6. ADIABATIC INEFFICIENCY IN AN AUTOMOBILE ENGINE AND WHY THE ENGINES CANNOT FOLLOW A PERFECTLY ADIABATIC CYCLE AND WHAT DO WE LOOSE BY THAT.
AND THEY ALSO ASKED ME QUESTION ABOUT FSAE BECAUSE I WAS IN THE TEAM AND HAD DESIGNED THE CHASSIS FOR THE CAR SOTHEY ASKED ME DIFFERENCES BW=ETWEEN THE CHASSIS OF A RACE CAR AND ROAD CAR AND THE OTHER INTRICACIES INVOLVED. INFACT IT HELPED ME A LOT TO CRACK THE INTERVIEW.

HR Interview

HR INTERVIEW WAS VERY EASY AND THE LADY INTERVIEWING ME WAS MOSTLY CONCERNED AS TO WHETHER I WILL JOIN THE JOB OR NOT OR I WILL GO FOR HIGHER STUDIES. SHE ASKED GENERAL HR QUESTIONS , FAMILY BACKGROUND, WHY DID U APLIED FOR THIS COMPANY ETC.

Suggestion

TATA TECHNOLOGIES IS A FLAGSHIP COMPANY IN PRODUCT ENGINEERING DESIGN AND TOP 10 OEM'S OF THE WORLD IN AUTOMOTIVE AND AVIATION SECTOR ARE ITS CLIENTS. DO NOT THINK OF THE INITIAL SALARY AS THE COMPANY WILL BE INVESTING A LOT ON YOU DURING TRAINIG PERIOD. MOREOVER IT IS A R&D POST AND MOST OF ITS OFFICES ARE ABROAD. SO YOU WILL GET INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE ALSO.
SO IF YOU WANT A CHALLENGING JOB IN ENGINEERING DESIGN , GO FOR IT.
