versus discharge. 4.If you are asked to trim the diameter of the impeller wheel, then after trimming how the above
graph varies? 5.Draw different parts of the centrifugal pump. 6.What is the role of seal in centrifugal pumps?
7.Calculate the NPSH for a pump to draw water from a well with water at 2m depth which is open to sky. 8.What is
NPSH? 9.What is the difference between CI engines and SI engines? 10.What is the difference between the fuels
used in the above two engines? 11.Draw the diesel cycle. 12.When do you inject fuel in CI engines? 13.In diesel
cars and buses, what is the key that is used to start the vehicles? 14.Draw the diagram of shell and tube heat
exchanger. 15.What are the different parts of shell and tube heat exchanger? 16. Why do we choose U-shaped
tubes in Shell and tube heat exchanger? 17.What are the main functions of lubrication? 18.What is a bearing?
19.Mention the different types of bearings. 20.If the road is made frictionless, how do you run a car on it and what
is the effect you will feel? 21.What is yield point? 22.What happens when a body is subjected to stresses before and
after yield point?

My interview started with HR questions. 1. Tell me about yourself. 2.Normally girls perfer desinging and computer
modeling sitting in a room, why do you want to work at refineries? 3.How do you see yourself when you are in your
sixties? 4. Career is very important in one's life, Why do you want to choose this? 5.What work would you like to
take up after joining us?

*First wish all the panel members with a good smile after entering the room. Be comfortable and calm. Never use
shortforms. Prepare well on your favourite subject and it is always better to prepare for one more subject relating to
the major work in the corresponding industry (mainly pumps here). Dont get panic when you are not able to
answer a question in one topic, remember you have to answer the next question with greater amount of
confidence. If you really aspire to join the company, express it in your words that you are very interested in joining
the company and since it is public sector company, try to relate your ideas finally to the development of nation.
Dont reveal your plans for further studies,if you have any. "ALL THE BEST"

I am very happy since I got selected in my first interview itself. I was very much impressed by their PPT. It was
really a wonderful experience interacting with the panel members. Though I was a bit tensed, their support and
friendliness helped me in gaining my confidence.
