Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
It was an online test conducted by PAC. It had 3 sections 1. IT Aptitude 2. Basic Computer Science 3. Advanced
Programming. The important thing in this test was that each section and sub-section had time limits, and the testtaker
was remotely monitored meaning, if a qtn required 2 mins to be answered and you answered it in 5s, the
software will recognize it as cheating or blind guessing.
IT Aptitude had questions on maths, logical reasoning, data sufficiency, flow charts, pattern recognition. Speed is
really important.
Basic CS had qtns on C++, dbms, ds.
Advanced programming had a tree defined and qtns followed it. This required deep understanding of ds concepts.

There were three rounds of tech interviews. All rounds had puzzles like:
There are 3 ants at the vertices of a triangle and each one of them try to change their vertices. Whats the
probability that they will not collide.
There are 100 windows which are all closed initially. Then in the 1st iteration all windows are toggled, in the second
iteration, 2,4,6,...... are toggled; in the 3rd iteration 3,6,9.... are toggled. Find how many windows will remain open
at the end of 100 iterations.
Lots of other puzzles were also asked. They asked a few questions on electrical core like how do you reduce
transmission losses, how to touch an on-load transformer. Then they asked why not cat? gre? even though you
have 95% in 10th, 12th.What all efforts have you taken to hone your programming skills? What other cse subjects
do you know other than ds?
In programming they asked me to implement a function to replicate the working of a strcpy, to do sorting using 2
stacks and a temporary variable only. What is virtual function? Why OOPs? What is normalization? What is paging,
deadlock? How to resolve deadlock? What is relational model of dbms? whats the use of static? extern? cache
memory. Write recursive function for finding factorial. Garbage management? Process management methods? Draw
a tree, and write down the inorder, preorder, postorder traversals. What is a balanced tree?
Really exhaustive, they took two and a half hours of tech interview for just me.

It didnt have the typical hr qtns, but was rather a chat, with the mam asking how i was feeling after the long
process. She told that they would be doing a background check for all selected candidates to verify the facts and
figures entered in the resume. She asked whether i can work in hyderabad/bangalore. Then she asked whether i
knew anyone working in oracle and then the conversation shifted to them, and the fact that they are still with the
company. It went on for around 15 mins. I dont think anyone who got through to the hr round was eliminated.

Knowledge of OS is really important for circuit branch people if they want a software job, and non- cse people
should try and acquire it by watching lectures or from books. Try solving more puzzles because most of the puzzles
asked are not completely original but a variation of those you find on the net. Try to be punctual for the selection
process, it helps trust me. Dont get disappointed if you dont get a job in the companies which are coming initially.

It was a nice experience, the company wants people with good programming aptitude, and a certain level of
knowledge in ds,os, dbms. The panel members were very patient. They made me feel comfortable and encouraged
me. They shortlisted 50 members for the interviews from a total of 330 applicants, so if you do the online test kind
of ok, you will get through. I personally dont think I did the online test upto my potential, but still got through to the
interviews, and in the interviews if you are good enough they will take you. They took 12 ppl for applications and 6
for server!!
