Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
LnT is conducting only one written test and they call that test as intelligence test. In this test all the aptitude
questions are asked, no technical questions for written test.
This test is same for all B.Tech and M.tech students.
In written test 1 hour was given and there were 3 sections in paper- Verbal, Reasoning, and Quantitative. Each
section had 25 questions. No negative marking for wrong answers.
All the questions were not so much difficult and but there was only problem of time. So don’t waste too much time
in getting right answer, answer any option and move on to another question.
There were three different sections so first attend the section in which you are confident and fast. Make sure you
can equal time to all the sections as the written test result counts cutoff from all the sections.
In verbal ability section there was use appropriate propositions also there were fill in the blanks for use A , An , The
etc. which is not so much time consuming. But comprehensions were so much large and it was time taking task. So
improve vocabulary for getting answers quickly. Also some synonyms and antonyms were asked which were
average.
Reasoning section was easy and just we were required to finish it early. There were questions based on picture
sequence, clocks, odd man out deductions etc.
Quantitative was based on R S Agrawal book only and but this section was most time consuming.

For us, there was only one technical interview.
There was one interviewer and I was first asked to tell about myself. Then I was asked about my family detail. I was
asked about my B.Tech electives. As my electives were structure related I was asked about application of flange
beam and load carrying mechanism. I was asked to draw reinforcement details for the slab which is having doubly
reinforced beam and slab having flange beam, also asked me about reinforcement details for bent up bars for the
slab and beam.
I was given one continuous beam and I was told to solve it by slope deflection method or moment distribution
method and after solving it I was required to give SFD and BMD for the same. I was also given one portal frame and
for that I was asked to solve it and also to predict nature of forces in each member. I was also asked to give SFD
and BMD for different loading.
After checking knowledge about basic structure analysis, I was asked to tell about finding bearing capacity of the
soils and other geotechnical tests which are generally performed on soil.
I was also asked to tell about concrete tests and some other related questions about it. I also gave answer for raft
foundation and its application. And some basics of T Beam Bridge were also asked as it was my minor project.
Than I was asked to give density of all materials like concrete, steel etc. some quick unit conversions were also
asked.
For steel structures, I gave all the permissible stresses.
I was asked about M.Tech subjects. I was asked about rehabilitation and about jacketing technique. Also I gave
answers for composite materials and applications. Some other students also were asked to give seismic design
procedure, kani’s method, foundations and its pressure diagrams
No HR related questions for me.

No Separate HR interview.

For M.tech students Aptitude preparation is always required. So give sufficient time for that. And try to get
maximum marks in written test so that you can be ahead of other candidates.
For interview brush up all the basics especially about basic structural analysis, SFD and BMD were asked to almost
all candidates; also keep some basics of M.Tech subjects in your mind. IS 456 and 800 are also common
interviewer’s scope.
Give straight answers and if you don’t know something tell no to them because giving completely wrong answer or
bluffing creates negative impression on interviewer.
Be quick for written test………… and Be confident for interview…… that’s it.

Written test was little bit tough. I prepared aptitude sections, those were very useful.
Interview was about 55 minutes for me, In Interview I was very positive and answered almost all questions and for
two or three questions I just told no but I had not bluffed any answer.
