TCS came on campus in our college on 5th Feb 2010. About 220 students sat for the Apti round. Out of them 125 students cleared the Apti round. The preliminary round of TCS was as usual.There were questions from GRE Barrons 12th edition.
They declared the results of Apti round shortly after the exam. I was knowing that i am going to make it. Cracking the first round of TCS is not a big deal. Finally 77 were the lucky ones who made it to TCS. I was one of them. There was no such rank allocated to any student

I was at no.5 in my panel. There was only one interviewer, a relief for me. He interviewed me for about 25 minutes.
1).The very first question was from compiler design. He asked me to list all the important steps of program execution and explain them in brief. They were preprocessor,syntax analysis,semantic analysis.
2).When I explained till semantic analysis he fired another question regarding JVM. I answered quickly.
3) Another question was from C preprocessor.He asked about file inclusion. I answered with patience.
4) Then he asked me about my favourite subjects. I replied Operating System, Networking, Linux.
5) He said ,""Can you explain what is deadlock?"" I was waiting for this question.
I thought for a while and explained deadlock on a paper provided by him.
6) He questioned me to explain Banker's algorithm. I explained with example.
7) Lastly he asked me to differentiate between buuble sort and quick sort.I replied with examples...
8) There were no HR questions in my interview.Lastly he told me to go and send the next person in.
So my interview had been great...

1) Greet them with a gentle smile.
2) Shave is a must.
3) Do not let them see your nervousness..getting nervous is natural but try to hide it by smile.
4)Have faith on yourself and Almighty.

I was at no.5 in my panel. Before me all the four students that appeared before that interviewer were from Electrical or Electronics. I think he was impatient to interview a CS student.I was a bit tensed but I never lacked in confidence.
Also I impressed him by saying that I am going to take the global certification exam of RHCE in April. I also said that I am very much proficient in Linux Redhat.
I think these words by me worked in my favour..
And I am really going to take the exam of RHCE in July..
