Company: CAPGEMINI
Package: 3.15 (LPA)
College: 1, 2001
Branch: 1

Pattern of Written Test

Aptitude Test : -- consisted of quant, verbal and reasoning with equal time for each section.
Quantitative : -- Consisted of standard high school maths problems(not much of a problem).
Reasoning / Analytical : --Easiest of the lot but time consuming.
Verbal English : -- Basic grammar and one Reading Comprehension passage(tough)
Technical : -- No technical
N.B.Overall the aptitude test was decent but the main problem would be time management and that is why so many people could not make it to the next round. And one more thing-there was no NEGATIVE marking.

Pattern of Group Discussion

The gd process was scrapped in our case due to less people clearing the aptitude test(about 110 out of more than 450).

GPA criteria

B.Tech /MCA – 60% or above all through career.
2nd year backlog was allowed but had to be cleared by the end of the final semester.

Technical Interview

Basically depended on the panel and the whims of the interviewer. In my panel, almost all the students before me were asked general questions so it was basically an HR interview till then but I was completely grilled on the technical front. So in a way the interview turned completely technical starting with me and all those who went after me had to face a lot of technical questions.

Other

The recruitment process started with a presentation by the Vice President of the eastern region of Capgemini and the other processes(apti,pi) followed.

Suggestion

The bottomline is be prepared for anything in the interview because if you see my interview field above, you will have a clear idea of what to expect. And as for the aptitude test, the ones who are good in time management will surely thrive. The only thing that is for sure is that with a bit of luck, someone with a good knowledge of his subject and fine communication skills will surely crack any interview. And do remember-"Fortune favours the brave."So cheer up!

No. of Candidate applied And Points that Worked in Favour

As I have already mentioned, about 110 were selected from more than 450 for the Interview round and out of them less than 50 were finally recruited(I dont remember the exact figure). And specifically from our college,5 were selected out of 57 who were eligible.By the way,it was a pool campussing so the entire TIG(Techno India Group) sat for the process.
And personally I could derive that a good academic record always does wonders.Besides, good knowledge about one's final year project is crucial. But finally it is the communication skills that matter in the interview and of course a bit of luck.
