Pattern of Written Test

Aptitude Test : 80 Minutes
Quantitative : 20 Minutes
Reasoning / Analytical : 20 Minutes
Verbal English : 20 Minutes
Technical : 20 Minutes

Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
Aptitude test was a 'merit trac' test. It had all the above mentioned sections. Questions were easy but speed was the criteria. Technical section also had very basic concepts of civil engineering mostly testing common sense rather than subject.

Pattern of Group Discussion

Name of the Topic / Task : It was case study.
Time Given : 45 Minutes

Details of the process and your contribution:
Like in the previous years, 8 people were part of a team. They had to pick up a chit at random, explain the situation given in the chit to the other members, involve them into discussion and ultimately summarize. So, in short everybody had a chance to be team leader once and all the other times had to help the one who was the team leader.
The questions were general case studies, the problems that occur in companies i.e. conflicts between manager and sub ordinate, how to increase profits? women in physically strenuous jobs good or bad?
The panel were very friendly people. I took my time to get comfortable with the first discussion from the next it was very easy! A Sensible thinking is all it required. Try to bring in many new angles about the issue, Be good enough to appreciate others who bring in too. When you are the leader try to make sure the discussion doesn't end quickly without much involvement of team members.

Technical Interview

Questions asked were related to concrete technology, Concrete Structures, Fluid Mechanics, Irrigation, most importantly Industrial Training and Projects done. Every line of the Resume was read and questioned. Technical Interview also had good amount of HR involved about how I handled worst situations in life and how well I could manage working in fields and remote areas away from family. Girls, be confident and say that you can and are willing to work in field. The crux of the Interview was 'be frank'. Answer the HR type questions they ask frankly. They will appreciate it. Have good amount of general knowledge about Nagarjun Sagar, Srisailam dams and also the TATA Power undertakings. I also got an opportunity to ask questions. Utilize it. It shows your interest. This Interview lasted for about 45 minutes.

HR Interview

It was very crisp and short. lasted only for 5 minutes. MBA? Future Studies? About you and your family? Can work in any part of the country? Hindi talking skills? etc

Suggestion

Prepare sincerely! Go by the company. Power Generation? Industrial Construction? Design? Software? Banks? see what the job profile would demand, list the chapters and prepare accordingly.
Be Confident! Frank & Well Prepared! You are sure to get through!
