Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
It was an online exam conducted by MeritTrac .. a company which conducts aptitude tests for many companies that
visit our college ( Be sure to chk it out .. their website , i.e. ) .
Quant section and another section named "attention to detail"/analytical were a cakewalk .
Then coming to technical part , ppl were given three options , u cud either choose
-> c (or)
-> c++ (or)
-> java
( alongwith common sections on UNIX and SQl )
i gv C++ section and it mostly comprised of OOPs concept application like questions on inheritance , virtual
functions ,
abstraction and so on ..
UNIX and SQL sections were a little difficult .
It was funny , i mean they asked me to write a simple code for the substring problem ( with proper declaration ,
initialization and documentation ) , eazzy again .
I was further asked about the functions of several Unix commands and SQL queries .
Tht was it ( Period )
Enquiry started with the usual "Tell me about yourself" , and then they asked me why being an ECE person i wanted
to enter software industry. The next one shot at me was tell me you strengths. Another usual question " What plans
do you have for further studies " , was the last one . ( They asked reason for wtever I told them )
Overall , it was an easy one , and the HR guy was cool . One funny moment was , when the technical guy asked me
how many codes had i written earlier .. and i said " wteva i hv done , I did it on my own , though its been quite
sumtym since i last wrote a code " , tht guy gv me a odd smile , and continued with his questions .
Be well versed with the general UNIX commands and SQL queries alongwith C/C++/Java .
In HR , they just want to see your confidence and your flow of speech while you answer their questions.
