no there was not any shortlisting or criteria as such...but as per my perception they considered everything like gpa,performance in interview.communication skill,family background etc.

then came the turn of technical interview.the interviewer was ism petro 1st batch passout.he asked me questions related to production and drilling.i answered approx 75% of the questions correctly.the interviewer was very experienced and intellectual person.whenever i was going wrong he took his time and made me understand the concept.

1st question he asked to me was related to my name.then he asked to about myself.then he asked me to give an example to so that u r hard working apart from your studies.then he asked me about my family members.my hr interview went good but not up to the mark.

Selection process was purely on interview basis.There was not any other criteria specified by the company.

there were 2 companies in which i was not successful and they were british gas and essar oil.

first and the foremost thing is one should have a good technical knowledge and a descent gpa.second in the priority list is one should be able to communicate well with the interviewer without any nervousness and make him understand what you want to say.

19 student applied and 5 of them got selected.My position among the applicants was 8th.
things in my favour were descent gpa among the applicants,sound technical knowledge,confidence and lost but not least luck.
